Q: Does acupuncture hurt?

 A: The needles are very thin, so insertion usually causes little discomfort. People often don't feel them inserted at all. A typical treatment uses 5 to 20 needles. You may feel a mild aching sensation when a needle reaches the correct depth.

Q:How does acupuncture work?

 A:Inserting an acupuncture needle causes an increase in circulation, a reduction of inflammation, and a release of neurochemicals, such as dopamine and serotonin.

Q:How many treatments will I need?

 A:How many treatments you need will vary depending on the condition, how severe it is, and how long it has affected you. Typical acute conditions are successfully treated in 6-10 treatments, where chronic conditions may require more.
